Overview

Yoshinoya SM City Grand Central carves a distinct niche among Japanese restaurants in Caloocan, Metro Manila. Situated within the vibrant SM City Grand Central complex, it offers an accessible and casual dining retreat for both shoppers and local food enthusiasts craving authentic Japanese flavors.

The heart of Yoshinoya’s menu centers on their iconic Gyudon bowls—a comforting blend of tender, thinly sliced beef simmered in a savory sauce and served over warm Japanese rice. Among the highlights is their Gyudon with Cheese Beef Bowl, which adds a rich, creamy texture, complementing the savory beef in a delightful twist. For those seeking variety, the Gyudon Bento and Tempura Bento provide satisfying meal sets that balance protein, vegetables, and rice perfectly. The inclusion of dishes like Chicken Poppers and Chicken Teriyaki adds a fusion appeal, inviting broader palate preferences.

Yoshinoya excels not only in flavor but also in crafting an inviting atmosphere. The space is noted for its neat, clean layout with a calm, soothing ambiance, enhanced by subdued colors that foster a peaceful dining experience. This makes it especially appealing for solo diners, families, and pet owners alike—an uncommon but welcomed feature as confirmed by customers praising the staff's thoughtful treatment of visiting dogs. Friendly and attentive service accelerates the dining flow, ensuring guests spend minimal time waiting while enjoying fresh, flavorful dishes.

Beyond food, the drinks menu adds a refreshing edge, with offerings like their iced Kohi and Lychee Fizz standing out. The Lychee Fizz, in particular, wins accolades for its natural taste, avoiding artificial flavors while delivering crisp, organic notes that perfectly complement heavier rice bowls.

While the overall experience remains commendable, a minor note on restroom maintenance has been mentioned, highlighting an area for improving guest comfort. However, the prompt service, accommodating staff, and well-maintained dining area effortlessly overshadow this small inconvenience.

In conclusion, Yoshinoya SM City Grand Central impresses as a go-to destination for authentic, quick-service Japanese food in Metro Manila. It strikes a balance between traditional taste and contemporary dining comfort, making it a compelling choice for locals and visitors eager to experience Japan’s beloved rice bowls without leaving the city.

Yay! Pet friendly. Brought my dog with me last Sunday. Not only they gave us water with ice for my baby, but they also take good care of my baby. Yes, not sure if its their manager but she played with my dog while I was eating haha. Cutie

I like their food and service here except the restroom. In Early-Mid December, I saw that the trashbin isn’t taken out in the restroom resulting the tissues are outside the trash, the hand soap liquid is messy all over the lavatory, but there is plenty of tissues and there is water that’s good. I hope they solve this issue immediately.

The food was really appetizing and good to look at. The atmosphere is soft-looking with calm colors, giving off a soothing vibe. The service didn't take a long time to prepare, around 5 minute tops for 2 food bowls and 3 minutes for 2 drinks. Definitely would come back again. Also, kudos to their Lychee Fizz as someone who loves Lychee, I would definitely purchase that drink over and over again. It really does taste like organic Lychee, not in any Artificially Flavored way.

Yoshinoya is a popular Japanese food chain that specializes in beef bowls. Their beef is sliced very thin and cooked with onions which make them quite tasty. They have added more items to their menu now such as chicken and pork and you can get combo sets now with chicken or gyoza + a drink. Price wise, a meal is about 250-300/head. There's a toilet at the back.

The food is so good that’s why my friends and I keep coming back. We’ve dined in several times already, and that says a lot about how good their food and service are. The staff are also very welcoming.
